Terms of use
Draft under review by our counsel. It may still change.
These terms of use (in French, “conditions générales d’utilisation” or CGU) apply to qobot.io and to the free QoBot desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux. By using either, you accept them. Paid offers (QoBot Cloud, Team) will come with their own terms of sale. These terms exist in French and English; the French version prevails in case of difference.
Who we are
QoBot is published by Articule SAS (trade names Qontrol, QoBot), 231 rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris, France, RCS Paris 843 409 954. Contact: hello@qobot.io. Full details in the Legal notice.
QoBot is for professional use
QoBot is an AI agent that does the work of a CISO (chief information security officer) for an organization. You use it on behalf of a company, a public body or an association, or for your own professional activity. If you use it for an organization, you confirm you’re allowed to.
The website
You may browse qobot.io, read and share its content, and join the waitlist. Templates and guides in Resources are general information: adapt them to your situation before relying on them.
The desktop app
- Licence. We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the app for your organization’s needs, for as long as these terms apply. You may not resell it, or remove its protections or notices.
- Your workspace stays with you. The app keeps your security workspace in a folder on your computer, with its history. You’re responsible for that computer and for backing up that folder.
- Updates. We publish new versions regularly. Some fixes, security fixes in particular, may require you to update.
- Availability. The app is new and changes often. We do our best to keep it working; we can’t promise it will be free of errors or always available.
Your access to AI
QoBot needs an AI model to work. You choose how it reaches one:
- Your own API key from Anthropic, OpenAI or Mistral: requests go from your computer to that provider, under your contract with them, and you pay them directly.
- Your Claude subscription (“Sign in with Claude”): requests use your Claude plan under Anthropic’s terms. We never see, store or relay your subscription credentials.
- QoBot credits: requests go through our server to Anthropic and are paid with credits. A new account may receive a free starter credit, whose amount is shown in the app. Credits have no cash value, can’t be transferred or refunded, and are subject to a daily limit. We may change or end the starter credit, and we may suspend credits used in breach of these terms (automation that isn’t QoBot, reselling, attempts to get around the limits).
Your AI provider’s terms and privacy policy apply to what you send it. AI transparency explains which models QoBot uses and how.
What QoBot’s answers are, and aren’t
QoBot does CISO work: it asks questions, prioritizes, writes policies and answers, plans and follows up actions. Its output is produced by an AI model:
- it can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and it depends on what you tell it;
- it isn’t legal advice, an audit or a certification;
- it doesn’t guarantee that your organization is secure or compliant with any law, standard or contract (NIS2, GDPR, ISO 27001, a customer’s questionnaire…).
You and your team stay responsible for checking what QoBot produces before you rely on it, sign it or send it, and for carrying out the actions it recommends. QoBot asks for your approval before any action with an effect outside the app (sending something, network access, deleting files).
How you use QoBot
You use QoBot lawfully and according to our Acceptable use policy. In particular, no attacks, and no testing of systems you’re not authorized to test. You’re responsible for the content you give QoBot and for having the right to use it.
Intellectual property
The app, the site, the QoBot and Qontrol names and logos belong to Articule SAS or its licensors. Your content stays yours. What QoBot produces for you is yours to use as you see fit; we claim no rights over it. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely to improve QoBot.
Liability
We answer for the obligations these terms give us. For a free service used professionally, and to the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses (lost business, lost data, lost profit), nor for decisions taken on the basis of QoBot’s output without the review described above. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, such as for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using QoBot at any time: uninstall the app and, if you created an account, ask us to delete it at privacy@qobot.io. We may suspend or close access in case of a serious breach of these terms, after telling you when the situation allows.
Changes
We may update these terms. The new version is published here with its date; for significant changes to the app’s terms, the app tells you before they apply. If you don’t accept them, stop using QoBot.
Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. Before going to court, write to us at hello@qobot.io so we can try to settle the matter. Between professionals, any dispute goes to the competent courts of Paris.
